My husband has severe migraines, and for longer than one year we have been to many doctors and specialists in hopes of identifying a cause. No luck so far, other than securing multiple prescriptions for various medications. Some medicines have only caused fatigue, unclear thinking, and dissapointment (because the migraines persist). After a trip to the emergency room a few weeks ago, I'm on a serious hunt for a better solution.
A good friend of mine suggested an environmental doctor and becoming gluten-free. Some online research shares correlations between migraines and gluten. Three months gluten-free has shown to decrease migraines in many people, so I'm willing to give it a shot. My husband is too, but I'm a major factor. As I do all of the cooking and food shopping, I too need to change my ways. I'm ready.
This blog will serve as a way for me to chronicle our progress, and hopefully, our success. My husband is only 31 years old and I so hope that the rest of his life can be lived without daily migraines. There is something causing the pain and I hope that going gluten-free will help (or completely) allow us to fight back.
Wish us luck, and please share any ideas you have. Thanks!
